Lightweight construction with thermoplasts
At the forthcoming K 2013 trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany, this October, technology leader KraussMaffei will be demonstrating the production of lightweight thermoplasic composites on its CX series dual platen machine employing its FiberForm and MuCell processes.
As a result of its similarity to standard injection moulding, the FiberForm process for manufacturing continuous fibre-reinforced composites offers almost all of the advantages in the production of fibre-reinforced components with a plastic matrix. Short cycle times and complete automation capacity guarantee high productivity and ensure that the processes can be easily integrated in modern injection moulding machines and production plants.
