Sustainable success for wind power
DSM, 3B, Siemens Wind Power and DTU Wind Energy have teamed up to develop a new composite system for making wind turbine blades which is characterised by the easy manufacturing of composites that are low weight, with high stiffness and excellent resistance to fatigue.
The material system is currently being evaluated by Siemens Wind Power for its next generation wind turbine blades and will receive the 2014 Innovation Award in the Sustainability category at next week’s JEC Composites show in Paris.
