Volkswagen Golf to use bio-composites from next year
One of the most popular cars on the road in Britain, the Volkswagan Golf, is set to feature seating, door panels, and a front-end module made of a flax reinforced polypropylene.
The parts are to be produced by the Faurecia Automotive Exteriors factory in Mexico will feature on cars sold from 2015. The front-end carrier module is the support system for the head lamps, engine cooling system and other critical components in the front end of the Golf and plays a vital role in ensuring the fit and finish of the exterior as well as the proper function of any driver assistance systems.
