Project to increase carbon elongation
SGL is receiving just under €1million from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) for the development of a new type of customised carbon fibre for thermoplastic applications.
The MAI CaFeE project will run until June 2017 and its goal is the development of a carbon fibre with significantly increased elongation and an optimised surface structure adapted to as existing sizing system.
